What is Street Photography?

Street photography is the art of capturing everyday life candidly in public places. It is not limited to the street but can occur anywhere public life unfolds. This genre of photography focuses on spontaneous and authentic moments that reflect the human experience. It requires a keen eye for timing, intuition, and the ability to recognize and capture significant moments as they happen. Street photography often highlights the beauty and uniqueness of ordinary life, offering a glimpse into the world around us that might otherwise go unnoticed. Please note that posed or staged shots are not allowed. An inadvertent look into the camera is fine, but people posing and smiling directly at the camera is not considered street photography for this showcase.
