Albert Lucy Babu, The Lotus Seller

“As the opposite side of the road thronged with people celebrating the annual Ganpati festival in Pune, India, I spotted a lotus flower seller standing before a closed shop, contemplating her next move. Early sunlight bathed her and the flowers, casting a dramatic scene against the surrounding shadows. In Indian mythology, the lotus flower symbolizes Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and good fortune. Here, this woman diligently worked to embody those very qualities. ” ~Albert Lucy Babu
