Member Highlight: Emily Strong

Emily Strong, a figurative painter from Allentown now based in Easton, creates large‑scale, meticulously rendered oil paintings that explore cultural identity, gender, isolation, and the complexities of human relationships. This exhibition highlights the tension she builds between abstracted bodies and highly realistic, expressive hands. Her process begins with staged photographic sessions, followed by in‑depth interviews with each model. As she describes her practice, she aims to create raw, intimate spaces that examine physical relationships with oneself and others, offering an inclusive celebration of humanity and form.
