On the occasion of Carter’s solo exhibition, Forms Follow Function: The Art of Nanette Carter.
Nanette Carter will discuss the architectural idea of “Form Follows Function,” which means a building’s shape and interior should relate to its intended purpose, and how the concept has been implemented into her studio practice over the past 47 years.
Carter will also discuss the correlation between this architectural idea and semiotics (study of signs, symbols, colors, and shapes to communicate something) in the work featured in this exhibition, which is from two series: Cantilevered and The Weight.
This artist talk will be held using Zoom Webinar. Pre-registration is required.
