Try your eye (and hand!) at street photography. In this workshop, award-winning photographer Parvathi Kumar will introduce the genre and present examples of her work and others’. We will discuss what to look for when walking about in our surroundings, turning the real world into a studio, and ordinary moments and subjects into extraordinary compositions. Parvathi will offer tips, techniques, and guidance as we explore Clinton in a new way. Train your eye to see differently with fresh angles and perspectives, and creatively capture ‘decisive moments’ to tell interesting stories through photographs. After a short presentation indoors, the group will walk around downtown and apply these ideas to the annual Rubber Ducky Race starting at 2pm. Please wear comfortable walking shoes. The best camera to bring is the one you have, including your smartphone. Photographers of all levels are welcome! Based on attendee interest Parvathi will offer a Zoom follow-up session for feedback on your images. Date/time TBD by students.
