Please join us for a reading by the celebrated visual artist Jim Toia and the poet and novelist Lee Upton. The event is FREE, but registration is requested.

Jim Toia will read from a book on his art, Jim Toia: Notes on Threatened Landscapes, forthcoming from the Zimmerli Museum Rutgers Press. This publication reflects upon his innovative work with natural materials and his responsiveness to our living environment. His work has been exhibited widely in the United States as well as in Europe and Asia and is featured in collections at Stanford University, the Yale Museum of Art, the Dallas Museum, and other prominent museums. He is the Director of Community Based Teaching at Lafayette College, where he teaches in the Art Department, and the Executive Director of the Karl Stirner Arts Trail.

Lee Upton will read poems inspired by Jim Toia’s art or that respond to his processes as an artist. She will also read from her most recent novel, the literary mystery Wrongful. Her poetry has appeared in many journals, including The New Yorker and The Yale Review and in three editions of Best American Poetry. www.leeupton.com
