Our hearts break for the injustice in this world, the killing of George Floyd, and the many other people of color who have faced the indignities and blows of racism before him.
In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
The Hunterdon Art Museum stands with those who seek equality, and as a cultural institution, is committed to fostering social change by providing a platform for artists and curators who reflect the diversity of society.
There is much work to be done, including looking inward, but through greater awareness and thoughtful action, we can move forward toward an equitable world. As we fulfill our mission to engage all people with contemporary art, craft, and design in ways that educate, challenge and inspire, we will keep the Museum’s core values of inclusivity, integrity, and openness close to our hearts.
