Join us to Create, Aspire, Recharge & Engage. This one-day workshop draws inspiration from three current exhibitions at HAM—including a powerful collaboration between artists sharing their unique perspectives, and a juried printmaking show. Art educators will discover new approaches to both solo and team creativity while experimenting with printmaking and sculpting techniques to create individual pieces and collaborative works. Teachers will develop classroom-ready project ideas while experiencing HAM’s supportive atmosphere, connecting with fellow art educators, sharing classroom experiences, and refreshing their creative spirit through hands-on artistic experimentation.
The AFAS 2025 workshop supports artistic literacy, collaboration, creativity, and professional growth for educators while aligning with NCAS goals aligns with the National Core Arts Standards by addressing the following key artistic processes and anchor standards:

Angie Mikula, veteran art teacher and founder of Art Seed Studio, will lead discussions relevant to current practice and the social climate in our art rooms. Her methodology incorporating S.E.L. in a choice-based art studio was presented at previous A.F.A.S. workshops and will continue to be incorporated into discussions. The emphasis for this workshop will be on building teamwork and strategies for collaboration through creative art challenges.
