Join exhibiting artist and author of The Improv Handbook For Modern Quilters, Sherri Lynn Wood, for an online interactive improv quilting conversation, demo and sew-along. Participants will consider and explore the limits of patchwork and how to turn limitations (formal, material, internal blocks) into portals for pattern innovation, direction, discovery and flow.
If you want to sew along during the demo, you will need a sewing machine, cutting tools, ironing station and material scraps nearby. If you don’t have a machine you could approach this with collage, using scrap materials (paper or cloth), glue stick, cutting tools, cardstock or cardboard for your base. Participants may also show up for the discussion and observe the demo.
