Join us for a creative and fun quilting experience as we design and construct personalized postcards! Start by choosing a theme—whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary, Mother’s Day, or any special occasion. Using fabric scraps, ribbons, and embellishments, you’ll craft your unique postcards. We’ll guide you through the process of adding beautiful quilting details and decorative edge stitching to bring your postcard to life. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have one-of-a-kind creations to either keep as a memento or give away to a special person in your life. This is a perfect opportunity to create a unique card for your mom for Mother’s Day!

What to bring: if you have a sewing machine, bring it and any fabric and embellishments you wish to use.

The museum will also have some fabric, ribbon, and other decorative elements available, as well as machines to share.

Artist Biography:

Janneke is my name. A very Dutch name because I was born in the Netherlands. I was a typical Dutch craftsy child who always wanted to become a teacher. I took up quilting once we moved to the USA. Having learned all the basics from the traditional Pennsylvanian and Lancaster quilters, I try to combine their craftsmanship with my Dutch whimsical crafts sense. Not getting rid of the teacher in me I continue to teach children and adults to quilt and express themselves thru the textile arts. I try to learn and teach new techniques and ways of making joy full pieces of fabric art.
