Due to the installation of a new HVAC system in the museum, this class will be held at the Red Mill Museum, across the bridge from us, through late April.

This class is intended for intermediate and advanced level painters. We will venture into seeing differently, understanding what’s important in your composition (this may surprise you), simplifying what’s there, understanding how critical color is to creating depth and drama.

Please bring a minimum of 2-4 canvases, small to medium 8 x 10, 10 x 10, 11 x 14, 16 x 20, 12 x 20, or whatever what you feel comfortable with.

If you would like to paint large, please email 4 jpgs of your work to [email protected] and include your phone number. And PLEASE PLEASE bring images that you want to paint or that inspire you.

Please click HERE for a list of materials to bring with you.

Artist Biography:

My paintings are intuitive responses to the myriad forces that shape my life—emotions that translate into color, visual memories of forms and color relationships found in the landscape, and personal stories from my past. I have painted consistently since childhood, starting with oils, and am currently painting with acrylics as well which enables me to create multiple layers rapidly without muddying my palette. The work process is one of constant experiment and change— building layers of color, form and image on the canvas revealing the underlying pentimento. My paintings are not planned, they are discovered, an evolution that is exciting and invigorating. Learn more here.
